She was about a quarter-past impatient and wearing several unnecessary layers in the California heat was not helping the situation. The first crime scene had seemed nice and fruitful after they'd arrived at this one. Is this even a crime scene? There was no tell-tale yellow tape surrounding the area, no officials combing the scene, not even chalk marks from a crime long past. Mulder sure knew how to take the crime out of crime scene. What she did see, looked to be an abandoned factory or warehouse; (oddly enough, Sunnydale seemed to be teeming with those) it was one level, and looking much worse for wear. It stood behind what seemed to be her partner's focal point, a monstrous steel tower that Scully would have guessed to be an oil rig, if she didn't know better. The tower was poorly constructed and less than reinforced, as if it had been built with hurried speed. The whole tower was leaning ever so slightly to the right and when she squinted up into the glaring sun, she could see a long thin platform near the top, so the entire structure could have been an ill-conceived diving board. "Mulder, you don't think it's a little odd to be meeting your witness at the scene as opposed to...in the comfort of their home?" http://community.livejournal.com/love_of_fate/3988.html | | Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 | | 3:33 pm |
If there ever was a town that needed help, it's Sunnydale. Not to say that it isn't quaint. I'm tagging along with Mulder for his latest venture. I've seen this type of town before; when I was on 'vacation' in Maine. It was as if the town was desperately trying to claim a sense of normalcy, but there was something holding the people back. Is there something dark going on here? I'm not completly convinced. As I look around and observe this town, I realize I've seen ten churches in as many miles. I find that strange, although I didn't pay attention to any denominational factors. In such a small town it's uncommon, but still plausible that there is a varity of religions. "I find it hard to believe that after all our cases concerning exangunation, Mulder, why do you still find it necessary to pursue these leads? Drugging helpless victims and goatsucking aside, I have to say that I don't think we'll find anything paranormal here." I sigh as I tap the panneling on the door, desperate to get out of the confines of the car. |
